Grammy has already taken some of the Christmas season’s best pictures anywhere!

Amara is going on 15 months – and cuter and more wonderful than ever. The latest of the marvels she has displayed is her exceptionally early use of the English language (demonstrating her above average intelligence).  For some time now Grammy has been trying to get her to talk while on video – but alas, it is often hard to get children to perform for us adults on demand. David began early trying teach her to imitate speech at its finest.  In this video Grammy got David to her get some of her first words on video.

As wonderful as this is – there is something nearer and dearer to my heart that she says. As with all adults nearest to the child, everyone has tried to get her to say their names. From the time she was born I always said to her: Grand – fah-therrrr. I never gave up. It has paid off! Much to Grammy’s dismay – it is Grandfather’s name that she now most often says.

O how I love that girl!

Yesterday Amara turned 1 year old. Kathy put together a wonderful party for the families and a fun time was had by all.
Amara really loved opening the presents – more so that I’ve seen with other kids that age.  It would appear that the present that captured her attention the most last night was a mini-grand piano that Amy and I got her.  Here is a video of her virtuosity:

After awhile David thought he should just take it and put it in a bedroom because it was a little noisy and hard to have a party with. This was her reaction to that idea!
